just a great, little travel tip

Visiting Melambes. Charming owner was very spontanious.
Dear tourists,

check what is possible in the internet, upfront. Later - skip the idea with guide books and follow just two rules:

1. Allow yourself to be lost.
2. Ask people around and follow their tips.

This is the way i discover my magical cretan moments.

Touristic season is still in progress and it is a common truth:
"Working with people can sometimes be exhausting",
known by the most of hard working people, maybe except librarians or funeral service providers.

So one evening, really exhausted i jumped to a hotel, where friend of mine works.
Besides her, none knows me, no guests of us, no cyclists.
Great. Girly wine and our little bla-bla-bla. Turned out otherwise.

At the beginning, some Belgian couple tried to explain me why it is not possible to cycle in Crete and to convince to give up the business idea.
Well, there were nice etc, but ignorants the worst kind - no idea about cycling, no own bicycles, no sporty types at all! But great advisors... ech. Annoying.

Later i had good talk with Netherlanders and in the end with another Belgians.
Those people were kind, chat was easy going till the moment i asked (silly girl!)
-What you ate here you like the most? Or what was weird for you to try? Have you tried...... ?
and the same things about sightseeing, excursions:
-What have you seen here, that surprised you?
-Where have you been...  Have you seen this and that ... ?
Oops! My evening planned as escaping from work, turned into after hours:  Touristic information - Agia Galini PR - advices provider.  No escape :)

Pity, that people make long awaited holiday and do not care how to use that time. Do not plan. Even planning no to do anything can be a good plan.
But there were totally lost and unaware. They didn't prepare and later,
here, also didn't get any advices, tips, ideas for one of most important things during holiday: where to go eat, what to try, what to see!
So, being in love with Crete and Agia Galini, i felt like on the mission:

You wanna something touristy? Lots of souvenirs? Or maybe rather wild, typical greek street market? Do you prefere wild quietness even for a price of some comfort?
Sporty and active?
Cultural and religious?
Ancient dust or fancy fragrances of mediterranean cities?
..And i've been telling about all those special places, from second circuit, with no money for promotion, omitted in popular guide books... Where cretan spirits show their real faces.
Next time will be easier to give them just a few links :)

And i promise myself I prepare a nice list:

What to do when you visit Agia Galini
in some next posts..
